Searching For/Love Spells Series by Jennifer Probst

Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst
Love Spells #1
Searching for Someday is the first installment in Jennifer Probst's new series Love Spells. I have read a few book be Ms. Probst and have always enjoyed them, so I thought why not give this new series a try.
I did enjoy this book, but it was a slow start. The beginning lagged and drug along but the pace quickly picked up and the story became likeable.
The banter between the leads was hilarious, and the chemistry and sexual tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
The side characters were as developed as the main characters, so this series is sure to be a hit!

I also love the cover!

Synopsis:
Kate has given up on love—at least for herself. She is both blessed and cursed with the ability to sense a romantic connection between two people—a gift that her family passed down for generations. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success.

But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. Slade puts himself in her hands and asks Kate to find him love. Enraged at his arrogance but stubbornly eager to prove herself, Kate agrees, dedicating herself to the journey of finding him love...only to find herself falling for him along the way

Searching For # 2

We are back with the Kinnections crew for another round of romance.  Prim and proper Kennedy who has sworn off men recruits a nerd to make over and fix up; can the matchmaker let down her guard to see the man of her dreams is right in front of her face?

This series has quickly become one of my favorite romance series.  I think I like the second book better than the first.  With hot characters and a funny plot this book is a must read.  I love a good make over story!

Synopsis

The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New York—just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge—not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.

Kennedy vows to work her magic and transform this hot mess in a lab coat with a disastrous relationship track record into the most wanted man on the Verily dating scene. If only she could turn the wand on herself . . .

Though she radiates confidence and sex appeal, Kennedy harbors deep-seated insecurities from a tormented past and lifelong struggle with weight issues. When she realizes she and Nate are cut from the same cloth and might be perfect together, can Kennedy learn to let her heart lead the way? Or will her fears sentence her to the sidelines as Nate finds love—with someone else?

Addicted Series

Addicted To You by Krista and Becca Ritchie

Addicted # 1

I fell in love with this book and the characters.  The unique plot hit the ball out of the park!  The characters depth, charm, and likability will have readers hooked.  The struggles these characters face will weigh on your heart and have you rooting for them to overcome.  The further you read this one the move you get sucked in.  I couldn’t put this one down.  I am hooked and can’t wait to see where the authors take us in the next installment.

Synopsis:

She’s addicted to sex. He’s addicted to booze…the only way out is rock bottom.

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex.

Their real vice may be each other.

In Plain Sight Series

Break Me by Autumn Stark
In Plain Sight # 1

I really liked this story about a woman who gets the guy she has been pining after for years.  This book contains lots of hot sex, chemistry, and drama.  It was exactly what I needed.  I can’t wait to see what happens with Jay and Parker.

Synopsis:

Abigail Stevens, an efficient and no-nonsense editor for one of the biggest names in the romance novel industry, has a big problem. She's been desperately in love with Anthony Tate, Mr. Romance-Writer himself, for the last four years. She's settled for friendship and professional success for the last four years, but now the sexy writer needs something more from her and she can't find a reason to refuse.

Tony Tate has built a career centered on his identity as America's most romantic writer. That identity does not include a debauched temper tantrum in the aftermath of his very public break-up with his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Tony has known that Abby has had the hots for him since the moment they met, but when his Plain Jane best friend and controlling editor ends up being his only option to exorcise his demons and pent-up sexual frustration, he can't wait to break her prim and proper shell.

As Tony and Abby push each other farther than they've ever gone before, the question becomes, who will break whom?

The V Trilogy

The Unseemly Education of Anne Merchant
by Joanna Wiebe

I am so on the fence about this book.  On one hand I am quite intrigued by the mysterious and creepy aura that the author portrayed giving the setting an eerie feel.  On the other some of the characters were farfetched.   I did not love the fact that the reader or Anne was kept in the dark the entire book.  The plot was good, the follow through was good, the ending felt rushed.  The slow buildup could have been fast as it crept along and some of the characters served no purpose for me. All in all it was a good read.  I  will have to check out the next book in the series and see where this goes.
Synopsis:
So many secrets for such a small island. From the moment Anne Merchant arrives at Cania Christy, a boarding school for the world’s wealthiest teens, the hushed truths of this strange, unfamiliar land begin calling to her—sometimes as lulling drumbeats in the night, sometimes as piercing shrieks.

One by one, unanswered questions rise. No one will tell her why a line is painted across the island or why she is forbidden to cross it. Her every move—even her performance at the school dance—is graded as part of a competition to become valedictorian, a title that brings rewards no one will talk about. And Anne discovers that the parents of her peers surrender million-dollar possessions to enroll their kids in Cania Christy, leaving her to wonder what her lowly funeral director father could have paid to get her in… and why.

Still Life With Strings

Still Life With Strings by L. H. Cosway

Still Life With Strings is an unconventional love story that had me turning pages and recharging my kindle to keep reading.  The character depth added a nice touch to this musically inspired plot.  I can’t wait to see if there is another book about Alec and Avery.

I was not really sure if I would like this book because of the setting not being in the US, but I have to say that I fell in love with it.  I would recommend this read to anyone who loves music or a great romance.

Synopsis:

My name is Jade Lennon and I stand still for money.

The night I saw Shane Arthur watching me everything changed. A man in a suit always catches my eye, but it was the way he looked at me that was different. Like he knew me or something. He didn’t know me, especially not in my costume. My sobriety rests on staying away from men, but there was something about him that made me throw caution to the wind.

After all, I was never going to see him again, right?

Wrong.

Standing still isn’t the only way I make my money. I also bartend at a concert hall. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Shane was going to show up there. Not only that, but he’s the most recent addition to the orchestra. So now on a daily basis I have to resist one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever met and he plays the violin. For me that’s one hell of a deadly cocktail.

He wants me to teach him how to live. I’m not sure how much a twenty-six year old recovering alcoholic who works in a bar and moonlights as a living statue can teach a world class concert violinist, but I’m sure going to try.
