Crazy Maybe

Crazy Maybe by A. D. Justice

20507301

I am so torn writing this review.  I loved the author’s writing style.  I was immediately swept up in the chemistry this couple have from the start.  It takes a great writer to grasp my attention and hold it.

The plot was a little much with all that this couple have going on.  It seemed to be packed full of unneeded plot lines and extras.

I felt like in this particular book less is more.

I did enjoy this book.  The cover is beautiful!

Synopsis:

Andi Stone is a strong, smart and independent woman, thanks to the help of a famous boxing trainer, Mack, and his protégé, Shane, who have respectively been like a father and brother to her. But that wasn't always the case. Andi never knew what a “normal” life was like. Having been raised in foster care from the age of six after the death of her parents, Andi became emancipated at 16 after an especially horrible incident forced her into a psychiatric hospital.
Luke Woods, the family black sheep and street-brawler, is determined to be a successful professional boxer despite his family’s protests. He needs Andi’s help to get there. The wedge between him and his family over his past relationship issues and career choices is not easily overcome. Luke must learn to face the past mistakes, fears and demons that constantly plague him.
Fireworks and passions quickly ignite between Andi and Luke in the midst of the chaos that surrounds and threatens them. She never revealed the secrets and lies that have plagued her, but when she publicly inherits her family fortune, the living, breathing past comes back to torment her and threaten all that she holds dear. For the first time in her life, Andi must learn to rely on someone else to love and protect her or risk losing the man she loves.
Sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes it’s all you need.(

Accidentally In Love With…A God is the first installment of the Accidentally Yours series.

After a few chapters, I knew that this book was something special.  With a comical feel and paranormal elements  this book has it all.  I quickly became addicted to the characters and plot line.

I can’t say enough about this series.  I am downloaded the second installment now!

Synopsis:

Trapped for decades, a powerful god seeks freedom . . . and revenge. But the only thing that can save him is the passion of a woman's touch . . .
Emma Keane is your average city girl trying to get a date. There's just one thing holding her back: the disembodied male voice speaking to her through her mind. Sound kind of crazy? Maybe. But crazy turns downright deadly when the voice persuades her to travel to the wilds of the Mayan jungle. There she will free his body-his incredibly hot, muscled, naked body.
Humans are so frail, so undisciplined, so susceptible to love. And when this ancient being connects with Emma, the feelings she sparks drive him utterly mad. Protective, keep-her-close, never-let-her-go kind of mad. Which might not be such a bad thing because from the moment the beautiful, passionate Emma unshackles his body, they are hunted at every turn. Now he'll have to do everything in his power to keep her safe. But will it be enough?

Date With A Vampire by Raine English

Tempted # 1

18622581

Date With A Vampire is the first installment in the Tempted series by Raine English.

I have been stewing over this review for a few days.  Not that I am torn but more like confused.  I really wanted to like this book, but the like turned into confusion quickly.

The plot could have been great with the whole reality TV bachelorette thing going on,  but unfortunately it missed the mark.  The characters will not connecting to each other and therefore I felt no connection to them.

The ending was confusing as to where this series will go with all the vamps but a few healed I can’t imagine a next book.

Synopsis:

She gave him her heart, but he wanted her soul…
Melody Johnson dreams of meeting a man as dashing and wonderful as the heroes in the books she reads. Being a realist, she knows that’s highly unlikely. Besides, men always leave her for someone more exciting—until she wins the lottery, that is. Pursued by scores of men happy to help spend her fortune, Melody longs to have her quiet life back. When a network executive offers a reality show, she seizes the opportunity to show the world she’s off the single’s market. Melody leaves her quaint hometown in New York for a sunny island in the Pacific where twenty gorgeous bachelors will vie for her heart and where she can stage a phony engagement. What she never expects, though, is to fall in love with a vampire.
Guystof LeBreque is a four-hundred-year-old Romanian vampire who hates the taste of blood. He’s roamed the earth for centuries, loathing the monster trapped inside him. Does he keep the promise he made to himself, or does he keep his brother from power? Guystof resorts to drastic measures. He becomes a bachelor on a hit reality show. What he doesn’t anticipate is losing his heart to the woman whose mortal life he must end.

Pure Sin Series by Kyra Davis

Deceptive Innocence Part One by Kyra Davis

Pure Sin # 1

Deceptive Innocence Part One is the first installment in the Pure Sin series by Kyra Davis.

This short, dramatic book is filled with angst and revenge.  With interesting characters and a mysterious plot it is sure to be a hit.

Going in to this book I really did not know what to think, but this pleasant surprise had me reading until the end.  The chemistry between Bell and Lander will set your pages on fire.  The premise of this book and delivery were amazing.  I can’t wait for the next chapter to see if Lander is the guy for Bell and if she can carry out her plan for revenge.

Synopsis:

Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn't commit, Bell's been focused on one thing: revenge. She knows her mother was set up by the powerful Gable family, international bankers who will crush anyone for profit, or amusement. Now she's determined to take the Gables down.

Seducing her way into the life--and bed--of the family's rebellious youngest son, Lander, she figures it should be easy to uncover the secrets she needs to destroy his family. But Lander turns out to be more complicated than Bell expected. He's intelligent, mysterious--and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Lander is still the target, but once Bell gives in to her desire to touch him, he starts seeming much less like an enemy--which is why her anger is more necessary than ever.

Deceptive Innocence Part 2

And the mystery continues.  In part 2 we dive deeper into Bell’s life and past in her quest to bring down Lander and his family.

This installment was just ok for me.  I would have liked to see more interaction between Bell and Lander in this one.  I’m not sure if Bell can carry out her plans with Lander standing in her way.

Synopsis:

Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn’t commit, Bell has been focused on one thing: revenge. She knows her mother was set up by the head of the powerful Gable family, international bankers who will crush anyone for profit, or amusement. Now she’s determined to take the Gables down—from the inside.

Seducing her way into the life—and bed—of the family's rebellious youngest son, Lander, she figures it should be easy to uncover the secrets she needs to destroy the Gables. But Lander turns out to be much more complicated than Bell ever could have imagined. He’s enticing, intelligent, mysterious—and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Lander is still the target, but when he touches her, he starts seeming much less like an enemy…

Deceptive Innocence: Part Three by Kyra Davis
Pure Sin # 3

I am somewhat upset that with this installment of Deceptive Innocence.  I imagined that we would have a conclusion to this saga, but no we readers are left with yet another cliffhanger.  I am all for cliffhangers, in fact it keeps me on the lookout for the nest book in the series, but come on all three parts are left open.  It is working on my nerves and not in a good way.   I can see the first, and even the second, but the third open ending and I can honestly say I don’t know if I can continue with this series.  I stared out loving it and now I am just kind of fed up.  I will most likely read the next installment because I am OCD, but if it ends in a cliffhanger I will not read another one, no matter how caught up I am with the story.

Now that my rant is over, the plot of part three focuses on Lander and Belle.  Secretes are discovered and allies are made as the plot to take down the Gable family thickens.

I love these characters, the plot, and the writing style.  I hope the series goes to a full book and not these novella length cliff hangers.  I was under the impression that this was a trilogy, but in the end we are left with no answers and a whole lot of what ifs.  To me this series was market wrong since it was advertised as a trilogy and apparently it is not since the ending was a cliffhanger.  It was confusing to say the least.

On another note if you put all three covers together it is a pretty cool concept!

Destiny by Deanna Chase

Defining Destiny by Deanna Chase
Destiny # 1

Defining Destiny is the first installment in the new Destiny series by Deanna Chase.  The series opener is a great start to this new adult romantic series.

Defining Destiny is set in alternate POV’s between the main characters Lucy and Seth.  Both of the lead characters have a jaded past and flaws that is hard to overcome.

Ok folk, I got caught up in this series.  I couldn’t get enough.  The plot was dramatic, romantic, and emotional.  The characters were flawed, just the way I like them.  This romance is not all love at first sight and tied up in a perfect bow.  The characters go through trials and strife to get where they want to be.  I loved reading this book and can’t wait to see where this series takes us.

The only thing that I can honestly say got on my nerves A LOT was the mentioning of soul mates.  To me it was highly overused and started to become a distraction.  Even mentioning that the ex was a soul mate caught me off guard.  I thought that soul mates were the one person you can’t live without; not the ex you are moving forward from.

Synopsis:

When destiny fails...

Singer-songwriter Lucy Moore thought her life was perfect. At just twenty-one, she's already met her soul mate and together they've landed a recording contract. But when her father dies and the love of her life betrays her in more ways than one, she returns home to pick up the pieces. On the shores of Mendocino, California, Lucy has some decisions to make. Should she start a solo career? Or should she leave it all behind for some semblance of normalcy in the quiet town she grew up in? And what about Seth, the tortured artist who always seems to be there when she needs him?

Seth Keenan has demons of his own. Eighteen months ago, he was involved in a horrific accident that he never talks about. His career as an accomplished oil-paint artist has been abandoned, replaced by the buzz of his tattoo gun. And women--well, he never sticks around for longer than a few hours of pleasure... until he meets Lucy. After one evening of listening to her seductive voice, he's pulled under. But what about the vow he made to never get close to anyone again?

In a world where everyone has one true soul mate, can these two find love in the arms of each other?

The Summer I Found You

The Summer I Found You by Jolene Perry

I loved this pairing of two characters with not only character flaws and major baggage, but also physical handicaps too.

As unfortunate as it is this YA/NA book hits home for many young people today.  As a school nurse, I have several type I diabetic students and the struggles they face on a daily basis is enough to crack the toughest adults.  These kids deal with it like a champ, but also have a daily challenge to fit in.

The emotions in this book are spot on!  Most of my students just want for someone to think of them as normal.

The plot is genius.  I loved the struggles, emotions, and characters in this book.

Synopsis:

All they have in common is that they're less than perfect. And all they're looking for is the perfect distraction.

Kate's dream boyfriend has just broken up with her and she's still reeling from her diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. Aidan planned on being a lifer in the army and went to Afghanistan straight out of high school. Now he's a disabled young veteran struggling to embrace his new life. When Kate and Aidan find each other neither one wants to get attached. But could they be right for each other after all?

Mafia Girl

Mafia Girl by Deborah Blumenthal

This book follows the struggles of being a don’s daughter.

The cover was cute and I loved the Soprano’s so I thought why not give this book a shot.  The story was all over the place.  The characters were likable but there was really not plot.  It was almost like watching a horrible reality TV show; no rhyme or reason to this one at all.

The Michael aspect was just gross.  This book was a flop for me.

Because Of Luke by F. X. Scully

Because Of Luke by F. X. Scully

Lewiston Blues # 1

This epic journey takes place over years and follows two sisters that are preacher’s daughters and a pair of brothers who are in a band as their lives intertwine.

This book is set in the 1990’s and I am not a period reader.  I to imagine the characters in the here and now even if the book is written in a certain period as long as it is not spelled out then I can handle it.  Having said that, I thought that I would not like this book despite growing up in the 90’s.  Boy was I wrong!

I feel like I need therapy after finishing this book!  The plot was something off a Jerry Springer episode and I was just along for the ride.  This train wreck in the making was  something I won’t soon forget.

The charters develop nicely as they progress through the years in this coming of age saga.

I really enjoyed this book.  The plot progressed at a steady pace and had a movie type vibe going on.  The drama definitely flowed, but the surprise ending left my mouth hanging wide open.

The repeated miscommunications increase the OMG factor and pair that with the gut wrenching emotions will have readers hook, line, and sinker.

This series is one to watch out for!

Synopsis:

Music, love and sibling rivalry…all Because of Luke.

Three years ago, Shannon was a wild child. Parties, boys. You name it, she did it. But she's changed and the only way to truly turn things around is to finish college and hop on a plane to…anywhere else. Until an unexpected encounter throws her off track.

Sheila’s been covering for her big sister for as long as she can remember. Now it’s her turn. But her rebellious plans don’t include small-town fun. She’s got her eye on something better—a group of budding rock stars and a summer-long tour.

In the middle of the sisters lands Luke, a determined college student who’s pretty sure he just met his soul mate. But loyalty to his big brother means leaving her behind to go on a three-month tour with his band. Desperate to get over the girl, he soon becomes entranced with the groupie who’s come along for the ride only to find he’ll have to make a tough choice—and not without breaking some hearts along the way.

Hell's Belle by Karen Greco

Hell’s Belle by Karen Greco
Hell’s Belle # 1

Hell’s Belle is the first installment in the self-titled series.

I really enjoyed this book.  It reminded me of Kerri Arthur and Jeaniene Frost.  I have read some reviews who classify this as an urban fantasy, but to me it read more paranormal than urban.

This book has tons of action, comedy, and romance pair that with one bad ass cop and you have yourself a winning combination.

I couldn’t ask for more.  I plan on keeping this series on my “to be read” list.

Synopsis:

Half-vampire, half-human, Nina Martinez spent most of her life underground as part of an elite secret team of government agents who quietly take down rogue monsters, the human world none the wiser. She moves back to her hometown of Providence, RI to keep an eye on the recent uptick in supernatural activity, and to help run the bar she co-owns with her aunt.

Her attempt at a “regular” life, not to mention a budding relationship with smoking hot FBI agent Max, is cut short because of a string of ritual murders targeting the city's community of witches.

But Nina's investigation unearths deadly secrets from her long buried parents. Now the target of supernatural assassins, could Nina be the most dangerous vampire hybrid to ever exist? No wonder she can’t get a date.

The Hadley Werewolf Series

Bitten by Deceit by Shawntelle Madison

This short novella appealed to me because I have read some of this authors work and wanted to get more of a feel of how she writes.  I like this faced paced action with a romantic twist.  I just wonder if this will be the start to a new series or a stand alone book.
Synopsis
Alpha wolf Emma Parker is loyal to a fault, even if it means losing the love of her life when he’s ousted from the pack. She’s never stopped needing him, and when a black witch curses the pack, she wonders if she’ll even survive. It’s a poison of the blood, and with each bite, the virus spreads, leaving the infected rabid and under the control of an evil Alpha.
Kyle Benton is starting over. He’s a lone wolf, betrayed by the only woman he’s ever loved. Until Emma barges back into his life, as gorgeous and determined as ever. He’s hell bent on resisting her, or at least making her suffer. But she needs him in a way that touches him to his very soul. Now he has to determine how to set her free, and if he can, how he can ever let her go.

Bitten by Treachery by Shawntelle Madison
The Hadley Werewolf Series # 2

This paranormal romance was a great addition to the Hadley Werewolf series.  This book is novella length and packs a punch.  It is so short that I do not want to give anything away, but Charly finds herself in a heck of a predicament and might fall in love along the way.

Synopsis:

It's not like Charly the witch wanted to betray the Hadley werewolves. Or infiltrate the pack. But it's the only way to save her mother and protect her coven from a dark evil. She's a witch in wolf's clothing - until an unfortunate bite forces her to become the one thing she detests the most.

The last time a witch came to Hadley, she almost destroyed Trenton's pack. He won't let it happen again, especially now that this lone wolf is feeling so drawn to a certain new new girl in town. Charly is the most intriguing woman he's ever met, and he wants to know all about her.

The passion between Charly and Trenton shocks them both, but can she trust him with her secret...and her heart? One thing is for certain: she has to tell him the truth soon - before it brings about the end of both Trenton and the innocent citizens of Hadley.

Song of the Fireflies

Song of the Fireflies by J.A. Redmerski

I jumped at the chance to review another J.A. Redmerski book.  I fell in love with the author in The Edge of Never and the follow up title The Edge of Always.  I couldn’t have asked for a better written story.

Needless to say I was expecting BIG things in this book.  I hate to even put this down for public consumption, but I really didn’t like this book.  I actually DNF at 72%.  I don’t want to give it a bad review since I did not finish, but there was really nothing holding my interest in this book.

I kept waiting for something big to happen to make me fall in love, but unfortunately it was blah at best.

I didn’t connect with the characters or the plot in any way, shape, or form.  It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Synopsis:

stunning and heart-wrenching new novel about a couple who find each other in their darkest moment.

Since they were kids, Elias Kline and Brayelle Bates have been inseparable. When Bray moves to South Carolina, separating the two for the first time, they both at last realize that their innocent childhood friendship has developed into something much more. New Adult Contemporary Romance - Standalone Novel

Colorado Mountain Series by Kristen Ashley

Kaleidoscope by Kristen Ashley
Colorado Mountain # 6

Kaleidoscope is the sixth addition to the Colorado Mountain Series.   This also happens to be the first Kristen Ashley series I read and fell in love with her as an author.
It amazes me how the chick can write, I mean really write and capture my attention till the end of a book…and her books are long.  Like epic love story long. And I love every word!

In this book we meet two incredible characters.  An alpha male, not as alpha as some of Ms. Ashley’s other men, but still an alpha male named Deck and a soft hearted, stubborn female Emme.

This story has some mystery, but mostly focuses on romance.  This is one of my least favorite KA reads, but still worth the read.

Synopsis:

When old friends become new lovers...anything can happen.

Sexy, gifted, and loyal, PI Jacob Decker is a tall, cool drink of perfection who had Emmanuelle Holmes at "hello." His relationship with Emme's best friend kept them apart for years, but things have changed. Now that a case has brought him to Gnaw Bone, Colorado, the road is wide open for Emme and Deck to explore something hotter and deeper than Emme dreamed possible. So why is she sabotaging the best thing that's ever happened to her?

It isn't easy to catch Deck off guard, but Emme does just that when she walks back into his life after nine long years. The curvy brunette had her charms back in the day, but now she's a bona fide knockout . . . and she wants to rekindle their friendship. Deck, however, wants more. Emme's always been the one; she excites Deck's body and mind like no other woman can. But a dark chapter from Emme's past overshadows their future together. Now only Deck can help her turn the page-if she'll let him . . .

Searching For Beautiful By Nyrae Dawn

Searching for Beautiful by Nyrae Dawn

First off, I am a huge fan of Nyrae Dawn so I was so excited to see this read become available for review.

This book, list the rest of Ms. Dawn’s books, did not disappoint.  Beautifully broken character is one of Nyrae’s specialties and these characters were noting but the best kid of broken.

The journey the author takes us readers on is a whirlwind of emotions that is relatable for some and felt by all.  The situations the characters find themselves in are endearing and heartbreaking at the same time.  This is most definitely YA writing at its finest.

Synopsis:

Before, Brynn had a group of best friends, a loving boyfriend, a growing talent for pottery. She had a life. And after…she had none.

When Brynn lost the boyfriend who never loved her, the friends who feel she betrayed their trust, and the new life just beginning to grow inside her, she believes her future is as empty as her body. But then Christian, the boy next door, starts coming around. Playing his guitar and pushing her to create art once more. She meets some new friends at the local community center, plus even gets her dad to look her in the eye again…sort of.

But can Brynn open up her heart to truly find her life’s own beauty, when living for the after means letting go of the before?

This is a Young Adult title

Full Measures

Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros

Tragedy strikes in this darkish military debut by  Rebecca Yarros.

I have to say that I have only cried in a few books, being caught up in the emotions of a book is difficult for me.  The tears flowed freely in this heart wrenching romance.

The characters are amazing, the plot is perfectly flawed to create a book that you can’t put down.

This emotionally touching book is sure to be a hit!

Please, Please, Please write Jaggers story.

Synopsis:

Three knocks can change everything…

"She knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead."

The Brightside Series by Katie Delahanty

In Bloom by Katie Delahanty
The Brightside Series # 1

So, I really didn’t know what to expect when I started this book.  I didn’t think that I would like it as much as I did.

In Bloom is a witty romance that contain all the things that I love, fashion, fame, and one hot rock star.  I got so caught up in this book that I couldn’t put it down.  This is the debut book by author Katie Delahanty and it is a wonderfully refreshing read.

First off, I love the rock star genre and I also love Hollywood so to read a book that has both mixed in with a few name drops made my day!

Olivia looks Hollywood royalty in the eye and doesn’t look away.

The plot was cute and the characters were great!  The secondary characters were just as interesting as the leads.  This was a page turner for sure.

Synopsis:
My name is Olivia Bloom and I. Am. Free.
I left for LA with everything I owned piled into my old Volkswagen and dreams of becoming a costume designer. Little did I know I’d wind up designing for a lingerie company—yeah, not sure how I landed this gig—and taken under the wing of two young Hollywood insiders. The fashion shows and parties were great, but life really got exciting when the seriously hottest lead singer of my favorite band started to fall for me.

How does someone like me, an ordinary girl from Pittsburgh, wind up in the arms of the world’s sexiest rock star—surrounded by celebrities, fashion, and music—and not be eaten alive? Berkeley is everything I've ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, but the paparazzi, the tabloids, the rumors, it's all getting a bit too crazy. My life has become every girl’s dream come true, if only I don’t blink and

Don’t Even Think About It

Don’t Even Think About It by Sarah Mlynowski

Don’t Even Think About It is a cute contemporary YA read about flu shots gone wrong.  Being a school nurse, I know that most students are not enthused about taking shots at school.  So this funny read was my style.

I think I would have enjoyed this book more if there were not so many characters.  I was a little put off trying to keep up with all the telepaths instead of focusing on the story itself.

Synopsis:

We weren't always like this. We used to be average New York City high school sophomores. Until our homeroom went for flu shots. We were prepared for some side effects. Maybe a headache. Maybe a sore arm. We definitely didn't expect to get telepathic powers. But suddenly we could hear what everyone was thinking. Our friends. Our parents. Our crushes. Now we all know that Tess is in love with her best friend, Teddy. That Mackenzie cheated on Cooper. That, um, Nurse Carmichael used to be a stripper.

Since we've kept our freakish skill a secret, we can sit next to the class brainiac and ace our tests. We can dump our boyfriends right before they dump us. We know what our friends really think of our jeans, our breath, our new bangs. We always know what's coming. Some of us will thrive. Some of us will crack. None of us will ever be the same.
So stop obsessing about your ex. We're always listening.

Damask Circle Series by Keri Arthur

Circle of Fire
Damask Circle # 1
By Keri Arthur

Circle of Fire is the first installment in the Damask Circle series by Keri Arthur. I have read all of the Nikki and Michael series and have heard wonderful things about the Riley Jensen series so I wanted to start a new Keri Arthur series and here we are.
I love Ms. Arthur's writing style and how she brings her characters to life. I am also a fan of paranormal and series so this was a match made in Heaven. The action and adventure along with the romance in this book has me hooked on this series.
I fell in love with the shifter Jon and Maddie's characters. I love the slow buildup of their relationship and the chemistry that will set your book on fire. I also like that the fact that Maddie is not a "normal" human and has flaws herself.
The mysterious plot along with a few characters I knew from the Nikki and Michael series leaves me wanting the next book now!

Synopsis:
VISIONS OF TERROR

Sixteen teenagers taken from their homes. Eleven bodies recovered, each completely drained of blood. Some believe vampires are responsible. Jon Barnett knows that what's happening is far worse. Sent by a group of paranormal investigators known as the Damask Circle, Jon quickly becomes enmeshed in a web of black magic and realizes he needs help. But fate gives him only one choice.

Madeline Smith has retreated to an isolated farmhouse, afraid of the abilities she cannot control—abilities that have killed. But when a "ghost" brings a warning of danger and her nephew goes missing, Maddie not only has to leave her haven, she has to place her trust in a man who is neither ghost nor human. As the noose of sorcery tightens, the search for the teenagers becomes a race against time. But the greatest danger to Maddie and Jon could be the intense feelings they refuse to acknowledge but cannot ignore.

Circle of Death by Keri Arthur
Demask Circle # 2

Circle of Death is the second installment of Keri Author’s Demask Circle series.  I am a huge Keri Arthur fan, but this book is my least favorite book.

This book has a whole lot of action and little romance.  And as always with Keri Arthur you get tons of mystery which I love.  It is always a treat to read anything that Ms. Arthur writes.  She is an asset to the paranormal genre.

I just didn’t feel the connection between the characters like I usually do.  And I didn’t get swept up in this plot.  I am not discouraged though, I am sure the next book will be back on track with my style.

Synopsis:

In one vicious night, Kirby Brown’s world is torn apart. Her best friend is dead, killed by a madman who is now after Kirby, and she has no idea why. When the police prove incapable of protecting Kirby, she has no choice but to trust a mysterious stranger. And while she finds herself inexplicably drawn to him, she fears the strange abilities he wields.

An investigator for the Damask Circle, Doyle Fitzgerald, has come to Melbourne, Australia, to hunt down a killer. What he doesn’t expect to find is a cadre of witches capable of controlling the elements, a sorceress determined to take that power for herself, and a broken woman who is more than she seems. Doyle is certain that the reason behind the bloodshed lies in Kirby’s past—a past she has no wish to remember. Because Doyle isn’t the only one with magic in his soul: Kirby’s special gifts have the strength to destroy the world.

Circle of Desire by Keri Arthur
Demask Circle # 3

Circle of Desire is the third installment of the Demask Circle series by Keri Arthur.  I love this series even thought I was a little disappointed with the last book.  This book picked up the pace and romance and I couldn’t put it down.

This paranormal series has quickly become one to look out for with likeable characters, mystery, and romance this series has everything you can imagine.

My only gripe is that the characters seem to be random and you don’t get much on the background or see characters in previous book get their own story.

Synopsis:

Two children have been found dead, their souls torn from their bodies. Two more are missing, and Ethan Morgan’s niece is one of them. A dedicated cop, Ethan has every intention not only of bringing her back alive but of catching the monster behind these kidnappings. And he will use anyone and everyone to achieve those aims—even a crazy woman who claims to be a witch. But time is ticking. The victims rarely stay alive for more than seven days. Four of those days have already passed.

In ten years of working for the Damask Circle, shapeshifter Katherine Tanner has never come across anything that goes after kids the way this monster does. The last thing Kat needs is interference from a cop who has no idea what he’s up against. But the greatest threat to Kat may come not from the forces of darkness, but from the man she is beginning to love. Because Ethan is a werewolf... and the full moon is rising.
